Birmingham: The 48th Anniversary of the Independence and National Day of Bangladesh was observed by Bangladesh Assistant High Commission, Birmingham in a befitting manner. On 29th March 2019, the Independence and National Day Reception was held in Royale Suite Banqueting Hall, Perry Barr, Birmingham. The Vice Lord Lieutenant of West Midlands Dr Beverly Lindsey OBE represented HM the Queen. Moreover, Member of Parliament of the United Kingdom Jack Dromey, Mayor of West Midlands Combine Authority Dr Andy Street, The High Sheriff of West Midlands ,Former Lord Lieutenant Mr. P. C. Sabapathy CBE, Lord Mayor of Coventry, Consul General of India Dr Aman Puri, Vice Consul General of Pakistan Sardar Khan Khattak, Former Lord Mayor of Birmingham Cllr Shafique Shah, Dr Martine, Dr AJ Nasir Awan MBE DL, Hamid Malik, Najma Begum, Mohammed Ali, Councillors of Birmingham and different Cities, High Officials of Police Department and Fire Service Department of Birmingham, Hon. Consul of Greece, Jamaica, Congo, Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Birmingham, a large section of local Bangladeshi Community along with Businessmen and representatives of electronic/print media attended at the National Day.
