Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), will hold the first ever textile sector specific exhibition TEXPO 2016 at Karachi Expo Centre from 7-10 April 2016. This four day exhibition will bring together all the major textile manufacturers in Pakistan serving to be the largest platform where Pakistan’s textile related export merchandise and services will be showcased offering unparalleled opportunities to businesses around the world. TEXPO will showcase the overall range of textile products of Pakistan with special emphasis on value added products such as knitwear, high end garments, hosiery, etc. In 2014 Pakistan was awarded GSP+ status by the EU under which the entire textiles and clothing products can be exported to the EU without any duties, giving advantage over competitors in the region. In 2015, UK imported textile products worth around $1.2 billion from Pakistan, an increase of 57% as compared to textile imports from Pakistan to UK in 2010. Commercial Counsellor from Pakistan High Commission London will lead the delegation of buyers from United Kingdom to Pakistan to generate business through appropriate B2B meetings during TEXPO 2016. Interested buyers from the textile sector in UK can contact the Trade and Economic Wing, High Commission for Pakistan at tradewing@phclondon.org.
