Birmingham: Minhaj ul Quran International Birmingham and the Pakistan Consulate Birmingham, paid a special tribute to the National Poet of Pakistan Dr Sir Allama Mohammed Iqbal at the Pakistan Consulate Birmingham. The event was hosted by S M Irfan Tahir & Ejaz Siddiqui. The Guest of Honour was Zia Uddin Yousafzai Poet and father of Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousafzai. The event included Nasheed by Qari Tanvir Iqbal Qadri and beautiful Quran recitation by Qazi Hafeez u Rehman. The Opening speech was delivered by Allama Ashfaq Alam Qadri Director of Minhaj ul Quran International Birmingham. The keynote speakers were Mohammed Naeem Ullah, Malik Fazal Hussian, Khawaja Mohammed Arif, Waleed Khan, Riffat Mughal, Huma Khan, Asia Hussian, Mrs Sumaira Farrukh, Jahangir Ashraf, Dr Farooq Riaz and others. They expressed their views regarding the national poet of Pakistan and stated that the ‘secret of the self’ the underlying message of Iqbal’s poetry is the right path for a successful life all including the younger generations. They said Iqbal was a legendary personalty responsible for the visualization of an independent country, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Iqbal’s thoughts, vision, personality and his great works will remain alive in our hearts forever. Live performance were also given by Amina Sultani and Mahaz Masood Chishti. Also Present were Firdous Osmany, Ikram Mirza, Nazir Awan, Nav Malik Chief Constable British Metropolitan Police UK, Sajid Younas, Gulshan Yasmeen, Mushtam Mohammed Former Pakistani Cricketer, Zulfiqar Ali, Councillor Mohammed Aikhlaq, Khalid Pervaiz, Abid Hussain, Riaz Shahid, Nouman Saeed, Gulzar Mohammed, Naeem Kakar, Barrister Rashid Mirza, Mrs Rani Arif, Dr Saboor Javed, Raja Khalid, Ch Arif Dad, Ibrar Mughal, Imran Khalid, Raja Khawar, Mohammed Basharat, Syed Abid Kazmi, Jabbran Ali, Zohaib and many others.
